Fix Yellow Tint in Whites with Lumetri Color

Problem: White areas in your footage appear yellow or orange because the white balance is slightly off. This color cast can look unnatural and is difficult to correct with a simple white-balance adjustment.

Solution Overview

Use the Hue vs Saturation curve in the Lumetri Color effect to lower the saturation of the yellow hues that affect the whites.

Step-by-step Procedure

1. Add the Lumetri Color effect

Place the Lumetri Color effect on the clip you want to correct.

2. Open the Curves panel

In the effect controls, go to the Curves tab and select the Hue vs Saturation curve.

3. Create three control points

Click on the curve to add points in the Orange, Yellow, and Green regions.

4. Reduce saturation of the yellow point

Drag the point placed in the yellow area downward. Move it at least halfway down, or further if the cast is strong. This lowers the saturation of yellow tones and cleans up the white areas.

5. Fine-tune the result

Optionally, shift the yellow point slightly toward the orange region for a smoother transition. Check the footage on a calibrated monitor and adjust as needed.

Result

The whites should now appear clean, with the yellow/orange tint removed, while the rest of the image retains its original colors.
