Introduction to the Canon RC-IP300 PTZ Controller

The Canon RC-IP300 is a newly announced advanced PTZ controller tailored for professionals aiming to optimize their multi-camera workflows. Compact and lightweight, this controller is designed to support up to 200 cameras, incorporating key elements from its flagship counterpart, the RC-IP1000. By providing advanced features in a smaller package, the RC-IP300 addresses user feedback on midrange controllers, making it a more portable and efficient solution for various video production environments.

Enhanced Features for Professional Applications

The RC-IP300 offers a 3.5-inch touchscreen that facilitates live video monitoring over IP. This feature is complemented by touch autofocus control and intuitive subject selection capabilities for Auto Tracking, enabling professionals to handle dynamic shooting scenarios effortlessly. The controller also provides seamless configuration options, allowing operators to adjust camera image settings and system configurations directly without additional devices.

Physical Controls and User Assignability

To cater to professional needs, the RC-IP300 is equipped with dedicated dials and buttons for pan, tilt, focus, zoom, iris, and independent speed adjustments. Additionally, it features 12 user-assignable buttons, including three hard buttons and four function buttons with four-way menu navigation, ensuring that customization and efficiency remain at the forefront of its design. These physical controls make the RC-IP300 an ideal choice for live events, broadcast setups, and other demanding environments.

Introduction of the Multi-Camera Orchestration Application

Canon is also unveiling the Multi-Camera Orchestration (MCO) application, a software solution designed to synchronize multiple PTZ sub-cameras. This application enables automated synchronization of these cameras with the movements and framing of a single manually operated main camera. By integrating the MCO software with the RC-IP300, Canon aims to enhance the efficiency and precision of multi-camera productions across diverse applications such as houses of worship, live events, and broadcasting.

Upcoming Availability and Industry Showcase

The RC-IP300 and the MCO application will be showcased at NAB 2026, a premier exhibition dedicated to broadcasting and video production equipment. The event will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, from April 19-22, at Canons booth C3825. The RC-IP300 is scheduled to ship in June 2026, presenting a significant upgrade for professionals seeking a balance between portability and functionality in their production workflows.
